About

Mission Statement

Ceez Industries is dedicated to arming people with physical disabilities with the tools, equipment, and knowledge they need to achieve independence and take ownership of their lives. We exist to remove the barriers the system never bothered to design around.

Our Origin Story

Tony Stark built weapons. We build opportunities.

Ceez Industries takes its name and its spirit from the world of comic books — a world where brilliant, driven people build extraordinary things and hand them to those who need them most. Growing up with a love for science fiction and Marvel, our founder imagined a future where technology didn’t just accommodate disability — it transcended it.

That imagination became a mission. Where Stark Industries armed the powerful, Ceez Industries arms the overlooked. The people who’ve been told their needs are cosmetic. The students who couldn’t get into the classroom. The individuals who received a check instead of a solution and lost their benefits in the process.

We’re not building weapons. We’re building access.

Why We Exist

Insurance rarely provides what a person actually needs. It provides what it can justify. A seat elevation that lets someone reach a counter, make eye contact in a conversation, or press an elevator button gets classified as cosmetic. Unnecessary. Denied.

The person adapts instead. The equipment doesn’t. That adaptation has consequences. Years spent in a chair that wasn’t built for your body leaves marks — muscle contractions, postural changes, a body that has reorganized itself around limitation rather than possibility.

The cruel irony is that if science one day advances far enough to repair the underlying condition, the years of adaptation may make full recovery impossible anyway. The chair becomes permanent not because of the original injury — but because of the equipment that was supposed to help.

Then there’s the funding problem. When equipment isn’t covered, well-meaning people sometimes step in with cash gifts. And for many people with physical disabilities receiving SSI or SSDI, a cash gift — however generous — can trigger a loss of benefits. The solution becomes the problem.

Ceez Industries was built to address exactly this. We don’t write checks. We purchase equipment directly. We protect benefits while delivering real solutions.

What We Do

Through the Ceez Access Initiative (CAI), we run two programs:

Equipment Funding — We fund assistive devices and equipment for individuals with physical disabilities who have been denied coverage or lack insurance entirely. Awards of up to $100,000 are made annually, with Ceez Industries purchasing directly from the vendor to protect recipients’ financial benefits.

Education Track — We provide free MasterClass memberships to individuals with physical disabilities who have been excluded from traditional learning environments — whether by inaccessible facilities, hands-on requirements, or cost. Knowledge shouldn’t require a body that fits the classroom.

Our Team

C. César Ibañez

Founder & Executive Director

“You are the epitome of hope and the antithesis of despair”

My name is C. César Ibañez, and I was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Thanks to my uncle, I grew up with a love for comic books, science fiction, and all things science — a world where I could imagine devices and abilities that helped me see past the limitations of my wheelchair. I went to college to study biology to better understand my own body and condition. I’ve gone paragliding, skiing, and I’m always on the lookout for the next adventure.

I’ve spent my life watching technology open doors that shouldn’t have been closed in the first place. I’ve also spent it navigating a system that was never quite designed with me in mind — equipment that didn’t adapt, classrooms that weren’t accessible, and funding that created more problems than it solved. Ceez Industries exists because those experiences are not unique to me. They are the rule, not the exception. My goal is to help others like me seize new opportunities and gain greater independence — because I believe we’re entering an era of superhuman potential, and nobody should be left out of it.

Chad Southwick

Secretary & Chief of Staff

My name is Chad Southwick and I’ve had the pleasure of knowing César since 2018. I was drawn to his curiosity, his witty sense of humor, and his positive outlook on life. We became great friends quickly. I’ve had the privilege of being close to his day-to-day life, and during that time I watched him go into what I can only describe as “nerd mode” — enthusiastically laying out his ideas to improve quality of life for people with physical disabilities. Being part of the team that turns those ideas into reality is something I’m genuinely honored to be a part of.
