Season’s Greetings!
From all of us at Ceez Industries, we want to wish you a Merry Christmas if you’re celebrating today, and warm holiday wishes to everyone, no matter how you observe this season. We hope you are staying safe, warm, and surrounded by those who matter most to you. Thank you for being part of our journey—we are so grateful for your support.
How Technology Could Combat Muscle Atrophy
One of the biggest challenges that wheelchair users face is muscle atrophy—the weakening and shrinking of muscles due to lack of use. At Ceez Industries, we’re exploring how technology might help reduce the effects of muscle atrophy, improve quality of life, and support individuals in staying as healthy and mobile as possible.
Technologies We’re Exploring
- Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES): FES technology uses electrical impulses to stimulate muscles, causing them to contract. This can help keep muscles active even for those who have limited movement, potentially slowing or reversing atrophy.
- Adaptive Exercise Devices: We’re looking at adaptive exercise technologies that can provide wheelchair users with more opportunities to exercise safely and effectively. The goal is to integrate these tools into daily routines, making exercise accessible and impactful.
- Wearable Sensors: Wearable technology can play a role in monitoring muscle activity and providing real-time feedback. By tracking how muscles are used (or underused), we can help develop better strategies for maintaining muscle health.
A Vision for the Future
Our work is still in the concept and exploration stage, but we’re hopeful that with advancements in technology and with community support, we can develop solutions that keep muscles more engaged and active, even for those who face mobility challenges.
Thank you for being part of our mission. Together, we’re working to make assistive technology a source of empowerment and health for all.
